Our vision for Brolandingen was to create a recreational fjord park that reconnects the people of Hadsund with the fjord’s rich nature and cultural heritage, turning it into an experiential destination. At the core of the project is nature restoration: pulling back parts of the coastline to historic tidal wetlands creates sheltered lagoons and stone reefs, restoring lost habitats for local wildlife. Additionally, rocky outcrops crafted from the original bridge's stones celebrate Hadsund’s history while serving as storm surge protection that, together with the absorbent foreshore, mitigates flood risks.
The winding sculptural footbridge creates a dynamic shift between the shoreline and the water. It offers an efficient route between the harbor and the bridge, while small seating platforms along the way invite visitors to pause, watch marine and bird life, or simply enjoy the soothing sounds of the sea. These resting spots serve as quiet sanctuaries amidst the vibrant coastal life, perfect for taking a moment to unwind.
